Ancaster Gladiators v Navenby JFC U10’s
24th November 2013
U10’s win away at Ancaster
Navenby’s U10’s were again away in Ancaster playing their other team the Gladiators. Having dropped two points the previous weekend in the last 10 seconds the Navenby team were looking to take revenge against any Ancaster team. The Gladiators without some of there key players were fielding a weakened team, unfortunately this could not be said for Navenby who whilst not at full strength were as close to it as they had been all season.
In the last two encounters the Gladiators have scored first and at half time looked good for it, this tie was not to go the same way and with fire in their belly the Navenby boys started quickly and found themselves in from within the first couple of minutes, by half time the score was 7-0 to the away team who were in complete control.
In the second half the game carried on in the same vein Ancaster unable to find a way through the Navenby defence, until late into the game when Ancaster broke quickly in numbers after a poor Navenby corner, Joe managed to score his first goal of the season with a fine finsih.
Although outclassed on the day Ancaster Gladiators can take pride in their performance at no time during the match did any of the players look like they playing on the losing side and they gave 100% from start to finish, hopefully they can bounce back from this defeat next weekend with a result away to Northgate Olympic.
Final Score: Ancaster Gladiators 1 v 12 Navenby JFC
