Navenby Junior football club would like to wish a Happy New Year to our players, parents, coaches, committee members and all the cliff villages community as we enter a new decade.

Please excuse the pun but I wanted to take the opportunity to outline the clubs 2020 vision. We are seeking to continuously improve the facilities available and the coaching support for our young people as they progress through the game.

This coming decade is of important significance to the club as we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2023. It is fair to say they have been many ups and downs during this half-century period, and despite being homeless only 3 years ago the club is now in a very strong position in terms of player registrations. It is outstanding to see the progression of the players; we have a significant number of teams in the higher leagues of their respective age groups. All the teams are competing strongly, and positive development is clear. The committee feel this is down to the focus and leadership given by our head coach Tom Morton in particular,  with a strong focus throughout every age group on playing attractive football and developing skill sets with a view to player and team development rather than purely being results focused.

We are now seeking to grow our numbers primarily within the development squad where we teach the basic skills with a primary focus on fun to children from the age of 4 years and above who are future players and representatives of Navenby JFC. Our goal is to complete the football journey, where we hope to take teams through from U7 league football to the adult game. In the last 12 months we have successfully launched a veteran’s team and would like to develop girls and female football teams.

We would like to thank the current sponsors of our teams and always continue to be very supportive of local businesses. We will be hoping to re-engage support as well as source new sponsors. We are always looking for new ways to work with the local business community so please contact us if you feel that we can support each other with future growth.

We proactively fundraise to improve the facilities for our players and spectators. Our tea bar has a valued team of volunteers and in the last 12 months we have been able to provide new goal posts, flood lights to assist with evening training sessions and portable dugouts along with the much-needed footballs! Our next target is to improve the kitchen facility in the pavilion and to make the area a welcoming place for all the visitors to Navenby JFC.

We are always seeking additional help and support from volunteers both on and off the field Please come and join us!
